This is the most important question you can ask and it deserves a straight answer. Ohana Jamaica has zero relationship with any contractor, supplier, or builder in Jamaica. We do not accept referrals from contractors, we do not accept gifts, meals, transport, or any form of payment from anyone connected to your project. Our only financial relationship is with you, our client. If we ever discovered a conflict of interest, we would disclose it immediately and remove ourselves. Our business model depends entirely on your trust we have every incentive to stay completely on your side.
Absolutely and honestly, the earlier you bring us in, the better protected you are. We can help you evaluate a contractor before you sign anything, review quotes for red flags, assess a proposed site, and set up your client portal so that the moment work begins, you have a complete audit trail from day one. Starting early is the smartest thing you can do.
A contractor refusing access is itself a serious red flag and we treat it as one. When you sign up, we provide you with a simple Field Agent Authorization letter to give your contractor, making clear that Ohana Jamaica has your authority to inspect the site. If access is still denied, we issue an immediate Red Flag Alert to your dashboard and WhatsApp. That alert gives you documented grounds to pause or withhold any further payments until the matter is resolved. No legitimate contractor with nothing to hide should ever deny a client's authorized representative access.
Yes. Ohana Jamaica provides coverage across all 14 parishes from Westmoreland and Hanover in the west, through St. Elizabeth, Manchester, and Clarendon in the south, to Kingston, St. Andrew, Portland, and St. Thomas in the east. Projects in more remote areas may require slightly longer scheduling lead times for site visits, but no parish is outside our reach. Contact us and let us know your location we'll confirm availability and timing upfront.
Each report delivered to your secure client portal includes: timestamped and geotagged photographs of the site taken during the visit; a written summary of observed progress vs. what should have been completed based on your payment schedule; any discrepancies or concerns noted; invoice verification results if a hardware check was conducted; and a plain-language recommendation on whether to release your next payment. Reports are written for you not for engineers. No jargon. Just facts and clear guidance.
Yes all plans are month to month with no long-term contracts. You can cancel at any time before your next billing date with no penalty and no questions asked. We believe we should earn your continued business every single month through the quality of our work not lock you in with fine print. That said, most clients find that once the reports start arriving, they never want to stop.
Never. Ohana Jamaica does not touch your construction funds under any circumstances. You pay your contractor directly always. We verify whether what they say they spent matches what was actually purchased and delivered. We are an information and oversight service only. The only money we receive from you is your agreed monthly or one-time service fee, paid directly to Ohana Jamaica Limited for our audit services.
Yes. All reports generated under our Sentinel plan are prepared to legal documentation standards with geotagged, timestamped photographic evidence, signed field inspection records, and verified hardware purchase receipts. These documents are suitable for use in contract disputes, land court proceedings, or engagement with the Consumer Affairs Commission of Jamaica. If you anticipate any legal dispute, we strongly recommend the Sentinel plan and advise you to consult a Jamaican attorney early.

Please note: Ohana Jamaica provides independent audit and verification services. We do not provide Quantity Surveying (QS) valuations, structural engineering certifications, or legal advice. Our reports focus on verifying whether materials invoiced match materials purchased and delivered on site. Clients who require a formal valuation are encouraged to also engage a licensed Quantity Surveyor.
